10/10/2008 In late September it was discovered that a well delivering water to our sprinkler system had collapsed. This required the drilling of a new deep well, capping and filling the abandonded well, and new plumbing to connect the new well to the system. This was done as a necessary maintenance item in order to maintain the lawns of buildings 1, 2, 3, and 5. The well has an adequate water flow. However, the collapsed well introduced sediment into the lines of the sprinkler system and so these lines must be cleared before putting the system into operation.
8-19-08 Recent storms in the area required that repairs be made in the swale behind building# 2
Repair of swale wall

4-16-08 Heavy rains caused a minor washout that occurred along side the previous washout behind building #2. Repairs were made using cement bags. More permanent solutions including an evaluation of the drainage system are being investigated.
4-9-08 There is a renter looking for a rental for two months, March & April 2009. Send your unit and contact info on the "Contact Form" and you will be put in touch with the renter.
4-7-08. The keeper of the web site has gone north and will rely on news from those of you still there to update the situation at Seascape. Please send in your comments, pictures, etc using the "contact us" form. Thanks.
3-30-08 The painting of the clubhouse is complete. The pump house and storage sheds were also painted. The coming week will see several departures so there was one last get together at the pool and clubhouse on On Saturday night. Beginning Monday, the pool deck will be closed while the pavers do their work.
A group of volunteers cut all the pepper bushes from behind Buildings #4 and #5 as well as trimming the mangroves back from the dock walkway. Gary and Glenn supplied chainsaws and Glenn's truck was used to cart the debris to the dumpsters. A couple of large peppers to the east of Building #5 also were cut. This created a huge pile of brush that presents a temporary disposal problem.
3-27-08 The clubhouse is painted; trim to be painted 3-28-08.
Sidewalks have been repaired in several areas. Steep ramp at one end of Building #3 now has three steps. There is now a new sidewalk at the east end of building #3. Two walks to Building #4 and one to Building #1 have been repaired. The repair to the Building #5 walk was a late addition to the contract.
3-25-08 People have reported difficulty in opening the Board Minutes of the 3-20-08 meeting. It is believed the problem has been cleared up so the minutes can be read.
Sand and pavers will be here on Friday. They will be stored in the parking lot in an area to the east of the pool.
Along with cutting the Brazilian Pepper on the 20th we will be trimming the mangroves that over hang the dock. This is permitted under Pinellas County regulations.
3-22-08 Mangrove cutting survey so far: 6-No, 5-Yes. The Board at its last meeting did not authorize any mangrove cutting.
Two representatives from Pinellas County Environmental walked to waterfront and took a survey of our mangrove situation. The water front behind buildings 1, 2 and 3 contain many 20 foot+ black mangrove trees. These can only be cut by a certified mangrove trimmer. The water front behind buildings 1 and 2 is less populated with tall trees but it still would be best to have any trimming done by a professional. One thing we can do ourselves is to clear the dock from overhanging limbs as is permitted by current Pinellas County Environmental regulations.
When the paving of the pool starts on March 31, 2008 expect a lot of dust as the existing pool deck is cut to install gutter drains.
3-11-08 Paving of the pool deck is scheduled to start March 31, 2008. If the weather cooperates the project should be completed by April 7, 2008. The pool will be closed during this project.
